Also with bulbs, the main USP is their brightness, so you need to know which ones are bright enough to suit your taste and preferences.

Types of bulbs available in the market

Most of you are familiar with incandescent bulbs. These have been in use for more than a century or so. But today, your choice is not limited to these.      LED bulbs - LEDs are the in thing now. From televisions to digital clocks, most electronic gadgets make use of them. Your typical LED bulb uses only a fraction of power when compared to the power used by an incandescent one, making LEDs cost-effective. Moreover, many top brands have designed their LEDs to last for ten of thousands of hours. LED bulbs give off a whitish glow.
CFL bulbs - These bulbs are direct descendents of the incandescents. Though not as popular as its predecessor upon its release, it soon became popular owing to its excellent energy saving features and cost-effectiveness. These bulbs give out a whitish glow compared to the warm, yellow glow of the incandescent. Nowadays, you will see that there is a wide range of CFL bulbs available in the market, with many models available in a variety of colour options.
Incandescent bulbs - This is the classic Thomas Edison bulb - a tungsten filament inside a glass enclosure. The electricity heats the filament to point where it glows and you have light. Older models of these bulbs weren’t as efficient as the other two, but over the years newer models are at par with CFLs and LEDs.
